Game Over (But What a Run) — Pine Island Games Closing

It is with both joy and a bit of sadness that we’re announcing the permanent closure of Pine Island Games, effective May 29, 2026 (the last Friday in May).

What this means for you: this is your final chance to pick up Nut Hunt and Sigil. We’re running a closing sale—$25 per game, including U.S. shipping.

If your shelves are already full (we’re skeptical), you can also sponsor us in sending a case of games (6 copies) to The Spiel Foundation. They deliver games to children’s hospitals, halfway houses, prisons, Boys & Girls Clubs, and other places where a little joy can go a long way.

The End of an Era

We started Pine Island with a simple goal: bring more joy into the world through great games. In that, we truly feel we succeeded.

The Gen Con 2023 Crew

Along the way, we’ve had critical success, modest commercial success, and—most importantly—become part of an incredible community. We’ve made lifelong friends, played games with hundreds (if not thousands) of you, shared drinks, traveled to conventions, and even attended a wedding for some of our Gen Con friends.

What’s Next

Chelsea and I are moving to Richmond, where I’ll be starting a new role back in financial services—something I’m very excited about.

We’re looking forward to settling in, spending more time with family and friends, and exploring our new home (and finding some great dog-friendly trails for our 9 lbs pup Figgy Applesauce - recommendations welcome).

As for our games: rights to Sigil will return to Andy Voellmer. I’m incredibly proud of what we built and hope it finds continued life. Nut Hunt will be sidelined for the foreseeable future. We have some expansion ideas – but my focus going forward is on my new career and my family.

We’re deeply grateful to all of you who supported Pine Island Games and helped make this journey so meaningful. Creating games that became part of your lives has been a privilege.
